...of Chapter 3!
What? Did you think I was going to say something else?
Anyway, Page 43 is up! I had such a difficult time getting this page finished that I almost chucked the whole thing right in the trash and hit delete. Seriously. Long story. very boring.
Anyway, over the last few months I have slowly come to realize that I made a fairly significant tactical error when I started this bloody webcomic. okay TWO fairly significant tactical errors... The
first being that I would be able to update every week, HA. We all know how that turned out. The
second mistake was starting this story
where I did. Since I have so many characters I thought it would be better to introduce most of the principle characters quickly. But I think the "intro" sort of backfired since I have spent the last 3 YEARS on an introduction instead of telling the story I wanted to tell. yikes.
So here's the deal. Even though I had 4 more pages scripted for chapter 3, I've decided to end it right here with page 43 and move on. The next chapter, (4) will actually start the story of Sabre and the Samurai Pride. I now consider the first 3 chapters to be a "prolouge" and will eventually remix those three chapters into a single "chapter" actually named "prolouge". at that time, chapter 4 will officially become chapter one!
It actually feels like a "reboot" to me since I'll be "starting over" at Chapter one Page one again. but it really isn't as I'm not re-writing or re-drawing anything, all of the stuff that was said and done in the original 3 chapters still holds sway over the story to come, I'm just reorganizing it a bit.
I've got a lot planned for Chapter 4(1) and I'm really going to push myself in both the writing and the art. Because of that I am putting Samurai Pride on an official hiatus so I can get myself back into focus, and prepared to tell this huge story that is SP.
I really do appreciate all of the support and encouragement I've gotten from you guys & gals over the years, and will do my best not to disappoint!
